Violinist FRANCESCA DEGO (Lecco 1989) is considered by public and critics one of the best young artists on the Italian musical scene.
Her rapidly advancing career as a soloist and in chamber groups has led to many concert performances in Italy, United States, Mexico,
Argentina, Uruguay, Israel, UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Recently signed by Deutsche Grammophon, her debut album with the 24 Paganini Caprices recorded on the ex-Ricci Guarderi del Gesù was released in October 2012.
Winner of numerous national and international Competitions, in 2008 she was the first Italian female violinist since 1961 to reach the final
of the renowned “Paganini Competition” in Genoa and she won the“Enrico Costa” prize for having been the youngest finalist.

Francesca made her debut as soloist at the age of 7 in California with a Bach concerto, in Italy at 14 with Beethoven Concerto and at 15 with Brahms concerto in Milan conducted by György Györiványi Ráth. The following year she was invited by Shlomo Mintz to perform Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with him at the Tel Aviv Opera House. Since then she performs regularly as soloist with major orchestras including the Milan Symphony, the Cameristi della Scala, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Sofia Festival Orchestra, the Teatro Colon Orchestra of Buenos Aires, the “Arturo Toscanini” Symphony Orchestra, the Soloists of the Rostov State Theatre, Israel Sinfonietta of Beer-Sheva , Bacau Symphony, Trento “Haydn”Orchestra, Turin Philharmonic, the "Carlo Felice" Theater Orchestra of Genoa, “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Orchestra, the Bologna Comunale Theater Orchestra, London RCM Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of Tuscany (ORT) alongside great musicians and
conductors such as Salvatore Accardo, Filippo Maria Bressan, Gabriele Ferro, Bruno Giuranna, Christopher Franklin, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Julian Kovatchev, Wayne Marshall, Antonio Meneses, Shlomo Mintz, Domenico Nordio, Paolo Olmi, György Györiványi Ráth, Daniele Rustioni, Peter

Recent highlights have included her Wigmore Hall and Royal Alber Hall debuts in London, Mendelssohn Concerto in Bruxelles, her Austrian debut and French debut at the “Les Flâneries Musicales” Festival in Reims, performances of Paganini Concerto N.1 with the Milan SO, the
Bologna Comunale Theater and with the Teatro Colon Orchestra conducted by Shlomo Mintz in Buenos Aires, Brahms and Sibelius Concertos at the Milan Auditorium alongside conductors Xian Zhang and Wayne Marshall, Prokofiev Concerto N.2 with the Turin PO and for the Opening of
the Milan Symphony 2012 season, Beethoven on tour with the ORT conducted by Gabriele Ferro, in Pavia with the Scala Academy Orchestra conducted by Marco Guidarini and in Orlando (Florida), Mozart with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Bach with the Scala Chamber
Orchestra, her return to Milan’s Sala Verdi for the Società del Quartetto and the invitation to play as soloist at the Concerts for Life and Peace in Bethlehem and Jerusalem with the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana under Nicola Paszkowski, broadcasted worldwide by RAI.
Upcoming engagements include tours and concerts in Italy, the US, Argentina, Perù, Lebanon, Austria, Belgium, France, Israel, Switzerland and the UK.
Her two CDs with pianist Francesca Leonardi (Sipario Dischi 2005 and 2006) have been highly praised by critics. In 2010 she made the world-premiere recording of the violin and piano music by Italian composer Nicola Campogrande and a CD for WideClassique dedicated to French Sonatas was released in January 2011. Her recording of the Beethoven concerto at 14 years old comprised a large part of the sound track of the documentary “The Gerson Miracle”, winner of the Golden Palm at the 2004 Beverly Hills Film Festival and selections from her second CD have been included in the sound track of the new film by prize-winning director Steve Kroschel “The Beautiful Truth”, released in 2008.
